IT IS COMMONLY SAID THAT MEN ARE FORWARD TO BELIEVE WHATEVER IS CONNECTED WITH THEIR OWN INTEREST. THIS IN COMMON CASES IS TRUE; BUT IT IS ALSO TRUE, THAT WHEN SOME VERY GREAT AND UNEXPECTED GOOD NEWS IS BROUGHT TO US, WE FIND IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CREDIT IT.

Making contract trainers part of the team...

  • Understand the trainer is a learner first. Too often trainers are thrown into the thick of things without being given the information they need to accomplish their mission. Helping contract trainers learn what their roles are and how to perform them within your existing organizational culture is an important part of the on-boarding process.
  • Establish the contract trainer as a credible member of the team. Effective teams understand and internalize their individual roles and the importance of each team member to reaching the organization's goals. Clearly express to your staff and the contract trainer what the trainer will be responsible for and what the staff is responsible for and your expectations for team-based performance. Introduce the contract trainer to employees using familiar organization terminology, such as "team member" or "associate" to describe the trainer’s position.

Finding the right contract trainers at the right time to deliver the right results and integrating them successfully can be an overwhelming challenge for an organization. If this is the case for your company, consider seeking guidance from a firm that is qualified and experienced in delivering and managing contract trainers for training initiatives similar to yours.
